ADI Part 1 - Theory Training

Phase-One ADI Training tests your knowledge of driving theory, rules and regulations and driver training and hazard perception test for driving instructors. This section of the test will take around 1 hour and forty-dive minutes to complete. The first part will be the multiple choice test which covers the driving theory, rules and regulations for driving instructors. You will be given 100 questions in general covering topics about road procedure, traffic signs and signals, car control, pedestrians and mechanical knowledge, driving test, disabilities, and the law publications and instructional techniques. To pass the test, you need to get an overall score of 85 out of the 100 questions given.

The second half od the test tackles the Hazard Perception section where in the test taker will be shown a series of clips where they need to identify the hazards or developing hazards. There will be a totla of fourteen (14 video clips. You must score at least 57 points out of the 75 points given.

ADI Part 2 - Driving Ability

Phase-Two ADI Training is an advanced level driving test. This section of the test includes an eyesight test, vehicle safety questions (Show me Tell me)and a test of your driving ability

During the eyesight test, you will be asked to read a number plate from a distance of not more than 26.5 metre if the number plate is the new style number plate and 27.5 if they are using the old style number plates.

During the next section of the test, You will be asked 2 Show me and 3 Tell Me questions

The last part of the test will test your driving ability. You will be asked to drive in a variety of road conditions as well as different traffic conditions. You will be graded on how you handle each situations and will be asked to do various manoeuvre.

ADI Part 3- Instructional Ability

Phase-Three ADI Training is a test of a driving instructors teaching ability. This section of the test will assess the instructor thru testing them with their core competencies, instructional techniques and instructor characteristics.
